Look, to say I'm not a racist means I'm an idiot-because everyone in this world is racist even on a microscopic scale. But with respect to the African/American community, GIVE IT A REST! All I hear about is how you think you're still a minority and how I'm guilty of crimes commtited before I'm born. If you really want racial equality then realise IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU! When in what mind did anyone think this bill was about blacks? When did the attention have to shift from the kids, urban areas filled with violence, drugs, and temptation-on all its residents, not just African/American. This isn't about your minority, it isn't for your cause it isn't even for your race-it's for the friggen kids. It's so they can make a difference and SHOW that there is racial equality and minorities are no different than the white man in the world. But when you sit here for another "look at me" moment you kill the whole idea.

I hesitate to say that everyone is racist on some level, but I wholeheartedly believe that everyone is prejudiced on some level. We all have our preconceived notions, either from watching and listening to our parents and friend, or maybe from experience. But it's essential that we are aware of our prejudices and not let them get in the way of our dealings with people.

The Media is an nearly entirely biased medium. Only things a specific group of people want to be floated out as information is put out in hopes to swoon the general public to believe that as fact. The only way we can truly get to the truth and bottom of any situation is by research. All the media does is make us aware of things or occurrences. I agree with you as in any help is better than continued student struggling... besides what's the point of being placed into school if it won't help you in your future at all???

That's why I laugh when media call themselves "fair and balanced", or unbiased, or something like that. I don't make any such claims for this blog. This blog is very biased along my own personal line of reasoning. But you are absolutely right. It is up to readers to double check sources, and cross-examine their information.
