That goes into the whole debate about media, public schooling is exactly what you said, the children are learning EXACTLY what it is THEY want you to learn and from such tender of ages the child doesn't have the mental capabilities to be able to decipher that what a teacher or group of teachers say to them may not be whole truth or the bottom line to whatever is covered. So from our very core we're taught not to think on our own until we get that one "tough" teacher who encourages and maybe even forces you to research and think outside the box as homework or a project. Those are the people driving forward a generation of shakers and movers to propel a better forward-moving world

This is also why outside reading is crucial for school-aged children. Reading books that are not required by the public school system give students the mental freedom to question norms, to question whether what they're learning is true.

precisely curious lady but it's within the responsiblity of the parents to encourage, promote, and push that into the children then positively reinforce it

Personally I think that where Cosby is going in the right direction he is simply treating a symptom.
